Unspoken emotions, constant conflict and slowly growing isolation can break down even the best men—and their families.

You care about building lifelong relationships, but you’re busy. You’ve got work, family schedules, half-done projects begging to be finished, and you still have to spend time with the people who matter most.
Our approach is designed to maximize the impact of each precious hour you spend in counselling, all while equipping you to…
- Experience a new depth of connection and intimacy with your partner
- Turn conflicts into constructive conversations
- Identify and communicate what you’re experiencing—in a way that your partner can understand
- Live with greater peace at home
You want support from someone who knows what it’s like
I’m Ryan
Since 2021, I’ve been finding the most effective ways to support men’s mental and relational health. I spent a decade working in the trades and mentoring teens, young men, and families in the non-profit sector. Throughout my journey, I’ve met so many men who might have similar concerns as you. Concerns that your peace and joy are inhibited by: not knowing if you’re good enough; difficult finding the right depth of confidence; or experiencing uncertainty about your role and purpose.
Working with me to use Narrative Therapy, you can better understand the stories shaping your relationships, and position yourself to rewrite them into new patterns that create lasting peace and connection.
After each session, you’ll receive a personalized therapeutic letter—a letter created specifically to supporting you in the changes you’re working on between appointments. Why would you want this? Research indicates therapeutic letters more than double the benefits of a counselling session. That way you can make the most of your time in counselling, and get back to living the relationships you want.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is your work covered by my insurance?
As a Certified Canadian Counsellor (C.C.C.), my services are covered by many insurance providers. This often falls under a specific “counselling” category with your benefits. Some companies specifically mention coverage for Canadian Certified Counsellors among their approved designations. Call or email and we can work together to figure out whether my services will be covered with your plan.
Do you offer Direct Billing to insurance providers?
Counselling should be as simple for you as possible. Because of that, we offer direct billing with many providers. Please reach out to see if it’s an option with your insurance provider.
Why are your costs higher than some other counsellors?
You don’t want to spend more sessions (or money) than needed to create positive changes in your relationships, and I don’t think you should have to!
Standard counselling fees pay for your session time, a therapist’s case-note taking time afterwards, and the other costs of running a business. My session fees cover the all that, and the time to specifically review the session and write your letter intentionally.
Furthermore, the letter becomes part of the formal case-note, reducing the necessary note taking time. So more of your session fee goes directly to the sort of work that empowers you to make the changes you care about.
Do you only provide counselling services for men?
Counselling with Regina Men’s Counselling is open to anyone, despite our marketing which is written primarily to men. I’ll often provide counselling to women, or those who do not identify as men. If you’re interested in working with me as a Counsellor, please don’t hesitate to book a consultation or intake session.
